THANKSGIVING DAY
ON THE FOURTH THURSDAY IN NOVEMBER THANKSGIVING
DAY IS CELEBRATED.DURING THIS MONTH WE HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH BRANDON ON SOME
ASPECTS ABOUT THIS AMERICAN FESTIVITY.
IN YEAR
4, WE HAVE DONE A SHORT PROJECT. WE WANT TO SHOW YOU THAT WE ARE THANKFUL FOR
MANY THINGS IN OUR LIVES.

"READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY"
Hello everyone.
Last Thursday, March 2nd, in our school we celebrated an activity that is very significant in the USA. It is called the Read Across America Day.
To help us celebrate it, students from Secundary school came to read books in English to our children. They also gave a performance of the story of the Three Little Pigs and The Wolf, for the youngest children.
We could do it thanks to Casandra and I.E.S José Mor de Fuentes. Thank for your supporting.
As you will see in the accompanying videos and pictures, we had a great time.

El pasado jueves, día dos de marzo, celebramos en nuestro colegio una actividad, que es muy significativa en Estados Unidos. Esta actividad se celebra con motivo del día de la lectura.
Para llevarla a cabo, estudiantes del instituto de Secundaria vinieron y leyeron libros en inglés. Además, representaron la obra de Los tres cerditos y el lobo para los alumnos de tres años.
Esta actividad no hubiera sido posible sin la ayuda de Casandra y el I.E.S José Mor de Fuentes. Gracias por vuestra ayuda.
Como podéis ver en los vídeos y las imágenes tuvimos un día fantástico.

FRIENDSHIP IS A RARE FLOWER.
Hello, everyone.
We are very happy because our flower of friendship is completed.
As you can see, each petal is different. It is this way, because each petal is from different country; Lithuania, Romania, Greece, Czech Republic...
This is what the project is all about. Even though, we are all different, we are also the same. And what unites us is friendship.
How did we make our petals?
We have melted wax from candles and dripped it on paper to decorate the petals.
Along with the petals, we have sent as a gift some of our favorite recipies from Spain. Such as: paella, spanish omelette, candied almonds, torrijas....
We have been writen these recipes with students from grades 1 though 6.
We would like to show you pictures of students from other countries as they were working on this activity.
The next step consists of writing a story about "flower of friendship". We are going to use this graphic organizer. And then, we will share the stories with you.
We hope you enjoy this project as much as we did.

Estamos muy contentos porque hemos completado nuestra "flor de la amistad".
Como se puede observar cada pétalo es diferente, esto es así, porque cada uno de ellos es de un país diferente, de los que forman parte del proyecto. Como Lituania, Rumanía, Grecia, la República Checa...
Este es el significado del proyecto. Aunque todos somos diferentes, todos somos iguales. Y la amistad es lo que nos une.
Os preguntaréis, cómo hemos hecho los pétalos.
Para ello hemos derretido ceras con una vela y las hemos aplicado en papel y así hemos decorado cada uno de nuestros pétalos.
Sucesivamente los hemos enviado a cada uno de los países participantes.
Junto con los pétalos, hemos enviado como regalo algunas recetas típicas de España. Tales como: tortilla de patata, almendras caramelizadas, paella, torrijas...
Hemos escrito estas recetas con todos los estudiantes de primaria, de 1º a 6º.
Os mostramos alguna foto de estudiantes de los otros países, para que observéis como están trabajando en la misma actividad que nosotros.
La próxima tarea consiste en escribir una historia sobre "la flor de la amistad". Para ello utilizaremos un organizador gráfico. Estas historias os las mostraremos en próximas entradas.
Esperamos que lo disfrutéis tanto como nosotros lo hemos hecho.
